harmonic balancer replacement 700 1987

Have you ever read the book "If You Give a Mouse A Cookie"
I am just considering getting a leg up on Murphy, or in this case the previous owner's neglect.
If I do a harmonic balancer, I'm going to see a leak in w/p seal, when i look too close at the w/p I'll see the turbo plumbing has a small leak, When i get the timing cover off to do the w/p I'll see, the crank seal is leaking,if i do the crank seal, the flame trap is going explode.
So i'm just wondering if the crank seal is a relatively straight forward proposition, as long as I have the hood up might as well prepare for the worst.
Weird as it is.The car fits me like a 164E , and the motor sounds strong, only 175,000 on it.I actually like it, when it isn't beating me up.
and as for the question, "do I own my Volvo or does it own me?"
I like to think of it as more like an adoption, that way I won't cut it into pieces and leave it by the curb. Any one need a distributor, rotor, cap ? I have an extra?
