SRS precautions? 200 1990

Airbags only go off if the ignition is on. If you ever disconnect the sensor, do not turn the ignition on as that will cause the SRS light to come on and disable the system as long as the light is on.

Every service manual tells you to disconnect the battery - for EVERY thing. They are just covering their butts.

Unless you are pulling the steering wheel, don't wory about it. You could hit the center of the steering wheel with a BFH and all that would happen is denting the center of the wheel.

There is no airbag maint. The contacts are coated in gold so they will not corrode.

Remember, the airbag is supplimental restraint. The real safety is having a good seatbelt.
