Much like Jorgen is the referred choice out there rack rebuilders and Nissens/Hepu are the preferred choice new radiators/water pumps respectively, does anyone out there have a preference for rebuilders of Mass Air Flow Meters? These things have suddenly suddenly gotten frightfully expensive, and at about the 10 year mark and 150K on my present one, I'm on borrowed time.
While there always seems to be a well known local alternator rebuilder in every town out there (turbo rebuilder as well), it looks like MAF's are a different situation. The only major rebuilder I was able to across was a rebuilder in Illinois - SIA Electronics. I did find a ABS rebuilder in Florida that looked interesting as well - but that's for a future topic. Junkyards are always an option, but at this stage of 200 series, I'd like to have both used and rebuilt options ready to go so to speak. Anyone know of any good, reputable rebuilders out there? I'd like to avoid having to buy a direct rebuild from someone like a Cardone and instead have one of my own rebuilt and ready to go by someone I know is really good. I actually had an OEM rebuild from a Volvo dealership (Boston Volvo) that literally only lasted 2 years and 50K before it too went bad. So even the rebuilds from the dealership are not immune out there.
The more I poke around on 850's and the other newer Volvo models, the more I want to keep this 240 going towards at least the 500-600K mark....
