87 Model 240 Sunroof 200

I've given up on the sunroof on my 87 Model 240 sedan. I'm tired of it leaking cold water down my neck every time I go down my driveway after a rain.
I've tried adjusting, cleaning out the drain lines, etc., but it still leaks occasionally.
I plan on permanently sealing it closed.
What is the best way to do a permanent seal?
Surely there is better way than running a bead of silicone caulk around the seam on the top of the car....which I've read during a internet search on the subject.
I know that silicone caulk is a good product, but I want to use the absolutely best stuff for the job.

Any replies will be appreciated.
thanks
steve
