Engines not getting fuel

Not so fast. If you check the archives and even recent discussion you will find that not all ECU's for LH2.4 do the "prime" function you speak of. I will tell you that the replacement ECU in my 1990 240 DL does not and has not from day one. My 1993 940 NA with Bosch LH2.4, EGR and Pulsair does not do it either.

This is one of those pieces of Volvo lore that is mostly grounded in fact but still not completely accurate. I was as surprised as anyone to find that the 2 second burst of fuel pump activity is not universal.
