1962 PV 544 windshield 444-544

The glass is fitted to the car inside a one piece rubber seal. Glass into one slot and the body flange into the other. The chrome trim is just that, a cosmetic trim which doesn't spread out the rubber to improve the seal. After fitting, it's normal to run a continuous bead of a suitable sealant to seal the rubber to the body and the rubber to the glass. The body flange needs to be straight and rust free to get a good watertight seal. If it NEVER sees rain and you don't add the sealant, you'll only get leaks at the car wash.
