loses drive power after several minutes 900

From your description it sounds like the strainer in the transmission pan is clogged with fibers from the clutch discs.
I had the exact same happen on a 92 model 940.
I removed the pan and cleaned the strainer, and did a fluid flush and the transmission ran for another 100K miles.
The reason it will go for a few miles, stop, and then go some more is because the fibers are being washed (flushed backwards) back into the transmission oil pan when you stop the engine.
When you restart, it will go for a few miles as the fibers slowly collect on the screen surface again.
Once the strainer gets clogged, the fluid pressure in the transmisson will drop, and the transmison will slip.
When you stop the engine, the process repeats.
Do not drive it any more before the transmission is serviced.
