M46 shifter dissasembly issues

DO NOT REMOVE THE SMALL SCREW for the reverse assembly, pull it all off together , this will ensure that the reverse mech is not damaged- after dis-assembly and assembly, I had to fine tune to get it to run smoothly again. Now I'm having a problem where testing the wires alone, I can only engage and disengage the OD one or two times, then nothing, then I restart the car, and the same again- the relay looks OK, I took that apart and the board was all in tact, wires are good on the transmission- I'll change the tranny oil, Could it be the solenoid?
