945 fuel pump removal 900

All 4 hoses disconnected, and now I can't figure out how to remove the pump assembly from the tank. Some older posts suggest that the pump assembly be rotated CCW - this seems quite difficult. CW is easier, but unproductive. Thinking it would help, I unclipped the small gold spring, but that didn't make the pump easier to remove.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Also, does anyone have the part number for the quick-connect fitting? It didn't survive. Earlier difficulty was due to one of the o-rings (outer, red) disintegrating
