i have been sorting out all manner of electrical problems on a 93 240 wagon.
at this point only an SRS remaining alight is left.

until this morning the CEL remained on all the time and showing a 1-1-1 code on ports 2 and 6 with the engine running and if reset returned immediately.

the cause is a faulty ECU module.... a 951 at that.

upon replacing this module with a spare 561 the CEL now goes out after start up.
i tested it with a spare 951 and it also went out after start up.

keep this in mind if you ever run into a CEL which shows no codes and refuses to extinguish
