940 Turbo oil retun pipe leak 900

1991 940 Turbo. Swapped Garrett for a Mitsubishi and all went well except the oil return pipe (also Mitsubishi so that's not the issue), keeps dripping oil from the lower (block) side. The whole thing seems pretty straight forward, the pipe has an O ring, just pressure fits in the hole. I don't believe sealant is supposed to be used. Anyone has any tips/experiences? Removing that pipe is a PITA and after the third time I am not a happy camper!
