Marine vinyl, fabric, or sheepskin cover 900 1993

This one is a two-parter so please be patient with me:

My shiny 940 wagon that had the immaculate interior has proved to be less than perfect as any used car is. The re-covered center sections of the two front seats were done in vinyl which almost perfectly matches the leather still on the sides and back. The sad part is, the quality of the material they used must have been pretty poor as there is already a split developing in the driver's seat.

I have never been a fan of Volvo leather or vinyl but love their cloth (the tweedy fabric). I absolutely adore MBtex which is Mercedes vinyl that wears like iron and cleans up with a damp sponge. BMW has a similar product that is 90% as good.

As I see it I have three options:

Slap a sheepskin on the drivers seat and ignore the problem = $95-150 + almost 0 time. If I get the really high quality fake skin it is also machine washable.

Pull a junkyard seat skin as a pattern and make new seat skins for both front seats = $80-100 in materials + many hours since it has been a while since I did any upholstery sewing.

Find good condition tan fabric seat skins and install those = $? + 2'ish hours.

Problems with each:

Sheep skin will render the seat heaters totally ineffective even if I get the relay issue sorted. Just covers up the problem. They are aweful comfy, though.

Making my own skins involves a lot of work I have not done since my teens save for a few motorcycle seats. I have yet to find a source of MBtex raw fabric and Marine Grade vinyl varies widely in quality.

The taller seats on the '93+ (I think that is when the change was made) 9-series are probably pretty rare with cloth being even more rare so finding near perfect fabric skins is unlikely.

Suggestions, comments and jeers welcome.
