fuel pump quick connect, replacement? 900 1995

Ongoing fuel pump quick-connect replacement problem.

Synopsis: car needs a new fuel pump, quick connect on high-pressure supply line did not survive disassembly. Volvo (Borton in Mpls) says the fitting is no longer available, and encourages me to go to the junkyard to look for a part.

Is the junkyard really the best solution at this point? Given that the supply line has no flange on it, does this make clamping on a fuel line an untenable solution? I'm tempted to simply replace the fuel line with SAE hose, but naturally, I don't want the car to combust while driving...

It feels like I need to call the scrap yard to see what they'll offer for the 945.
