If you're ever going to pull the engine, after all that trouble, why would you ever think of putting in a used oil pump? Why not also scavenge the used water pump, the used thermostat, and don't stop there ... scavenge the old radiator hoses and even the small heater to block hoses. And then you can also collect the old vacuum hoses, and even the accessory bushings.

I hope you see that I'm being sarcastic. It all seems penny-wise and pound-foolish, at least IMHO.
