If the cams were in backwards what makes you think he got the connecting rod in right. I would assume the worse, get a new junkyard engine and replace engine. Its a lot of work to replace a crank and conn. rod in this engine, but it can be done. I think you will find too much damage has occurred. JMTC Paul
