HELP! Buy a '94 960 or 2000 S70 SE?

Thanks so much for your reply. Both of the cars are at a dealer (not a Volvo dealer but an independent dealer). They offer VIN numbers for the cars on the website, so I could check to see how Carfax works.

My old 960 had three or four wiring harness/connector issues over the 13 years I had it, so I'm quite familiar with that issue, which wasn't too bad. Otherwise, I really had no huge issues with the car.

I am in a spot here because my son needs another car, and he's in Phoenix. I'm in PA. He's never gotten a car on his own. I'm not sure if a dealer is the best place to go or what. He would like to spend $6000 or less (cash) for the car. He drives about 15 miles each way to work.

Any ideas on the best approach to buying a decent used Volvo so that he's not completely taken advantage of when he's looking for a car?

Thanks again,

Susan
