1995 960 Blower Motor Replacement 900 1995

I've got the 3 screws that hold the blower motor out, and the fan is free but can't be pulled out no mater how much I twist it due to a large, H.D. brace directly behind it at the 5-6 o'clock quadrant of the motor. The metal knee bolster bracket bolts to one side of the cast metal brace. It fairly substantial and don't know (can't see) what it's mounted to.

I'm so close yet so far.

Any tips for how to get it out? Even if I remove the two large bolts that hold the knee bolster bracket to it, that only frees up about 1/4 inch and it looks like that large cast metal brace may need to come out.

Anyone else do this? Your advice is welcome.

Thanks, DEWFPO
