If it is an automatic, and therefore guaranteed to be LH2.4, the issue is one of the following:
Unmetered air
IAC not functioning correctly
AMM failed
hamfisted adjustment of the idle stop screw to attempt to account for the issues listed above
Unmetered air means anything not passing through the AMM. The accordion hose is a common location (has to be removed to be inspected mostly on the bottom of the hose). Intake manifold and gasket is a sneaky one. Both IAC hoses and the brake booster hose are also suspect.
IAC not functioning correctly seems to be confirmed by your pinching the hose test if that is the hose you pinched. Needs to be removed to be cleaned as does the throttle body (cleaning in place is no sufficient).
AMM failed can only be confirmed by swapping in your known good spare and it is the least likely of the bunch. Still, get a known good spare.
The adjustment procedure of the throttle body idle stop, throttle position switch is well documented on many threads but often ignored. The average corner mechanic will often adjust the idle stop to account for many sins involved with vac leaks, dirty throttle body, etc. In the end, all it does is stop the computer from engaging the idle "map" so the car never idles is just runs at low rpm with the foot off the gas.
