Auto transmission life 200 1993

I'm going to look at a '93 240 on Friday. The car looks in very good shape. mileage is 220,000. FAQ 7xx/9xx states these transmissions only last about 250,00 before rebuild. I assume it would be an AW 70. I hate to buy it, then have to rebuild it this summer.
Can you guys give me any info on these transmissions. Also, anything specific to the '93 I should look for.
