B 20 tuning

yes Yes Im finding these things out as I go along. the carbs were built by a fellow named Chester Gillings out in Colorado, basically its all he does.
OK, I should throw this out there, I bought my 123 distributor from John Parker, john said to set the curve setting to 'C' and being only a shade tree mechanic Im not sure what that does for my car. Im basically a daily driver and want that added performance. Im sure john knows his tuff but feel he might be a bit more of a 'race' guy than myself.
I checked the vacuum tube today and no oil, not sure what thats about but lets see what happens when i check it again.
