OK I noticed at a stoplight yesterday that while idling normally the tach showed 0 RPM. I reved it and it jumped up and then settled back to 700. It did a couple of other flaky moves but now seems OK. Questions for the experts:

1. Is this another case of dried out capacitors such as in the speedo which is very erratic?

2. Could this be related to a hot restart problem wherein after running and shutting down, the engine won't start until it cools down a little --power stage failing ??

3. Is all this an indication of the end of the Volvo break-in period after reaching 250000 miles?
