Charging Problem 200 1992

Had the alternator tested at Autozone and sure enough it showed as failed.

So now the next question! Just removed the pulley from the old alternator - I can't find the woodruff key. Was careful but don't know if it dropped out and I just can't find it or wasn't there one in the first place? Googling shows some cars don't have one so if the alternator freezes than it spins and the normal torque from the bolt is enough in normal operation. Is that true for a 92 brick with what looks like the original alternator? The new alternator came with a split pressure washer.
