Bulb Failure Indicator 700

1989 740GL

The bulb failure light illuminates each time the brakes are applied, yet the brake lights are working properly with identical bulbs.

I believe the system is working since when one tail light (parking light) bulb wasn't making good contact, the bulb failure warning came and stayed on when either parking or headlight position was selected w/ the light switch. With the bulb working, the bulb failure light (properly) no longer is on w/ the light switch on.

Is there anywhere/anything that would make it falsely sense a failure only in the braking circuit?
