15,000 Mile Mobile 1 Oil Question 700

I have always used non-synthetic oil in my 1988 740 due to concerns mentioned on this site about possible oil leaks if synthetic oil was used

I gave this car to my 16 year old grandson last July and the oil now has slightly over 5,000 miles and nine months on it. I am doing the maintenance on the car, but with school and sports its been hard to get him over with enough time to change the oil.

What are your opinions on using the 15,000 mile Mobile 1 oil and the Fram 15K filter in this car? I use it in my Highlander, but am nervous about going the entire 15K.

How likely is the leaking?
