Commuting in a 142 140-160

Been "daily" driving 140s for the past 13 years or so. A '72 144E from 2000-2006 and a currently '70 145S since then. Have had one 140 or another in the driveway for about 20 years.

None had/have not been restored, but all have been taken care of. Rust is an issue, but not so much that I'd spend the money to have it repaired.
Neither was/is particularly fast or handled really well.
All were kind of noisy on the highway but still would chug along at 65-70.
The ride comfort was ok, but the worn out seats could not / cannot compare to the ones in the 745 or 854.

And with those flaws, I simply cannot explain why these cars put a smile on my face every time I drive them. Given the variety of vehicles in my driveway, I'm always drawn to the 140 for daily use and I don't know why. I suspect it has something to do with driving something old and unique in addition to not caring about having the latest and greatest. I think these cars grow a soul as they get older.
