Good price for a project 240?

Then buy the one for $950 because after parts alone the other one is the same price. And you can test drive it.
I would not consider the one with the blown clutch. If you can't test drive it, it's a parts car, and worth like other people have said about $300.
Move on to another car. There is no "demand" for cars that old. You'll find one.
