1989 245 Transmission slow to shift up 200

I have a 245 with 265K on it. It has been rather slow to upshift in the lower gears, which is overcome by manually moving the shift lever to the 2 position then back to D. It usually kicks right in at that point. It has also been waiting to shift into 4th until about 60 mph. The bushing at the back of the tranny just failed and I replaced it. Now every gear is slow to shift up to the next, and it won't hit 4th year at all even when I ran it up to 80mph. I tried adjusting the linkage, which so far has done nothing. The OD relay will click in/out with the button but doesn't change a thing. Any ideas??
