surging idle, stalling. Very Odd symptoms 900 1993

First of all, check the 700/900 FAQs. There is a wealth of information available.

I used to have a 93 944 that started doing what yours is doing. The problem was caused by (1) faulty throttle position switch, and (2)a failed engine temperature sensor. I would recommend checking both of these units along with the air pressure sensor. With the high mileage on your car, I would consider replacing all of the sensors and sending units as a preventive maintenance measure.

You might also check underneath the intake hose for leaks.

You also need the Volvo service manual for the Regina system #TP31903/1

Regards
