Rough idle at start- stalled in heavy traffic- wouldn't restart- Finally restarted but rough again 200 1993

Had a rough idle at start this morning- but gave it some gas and the idle smoothed out. Turned off and idled smooth while I ran errands but then got stuck in heavy stop & go traffic for 40 minutes. Started running rough at idle in traffic and then traffic opened up it ran fine- then went to get into exit lane (which was also stop & go) it stalled and wouldn't restart. Was able to coast down the exit and park it off the street. Let it cool down for an hour and it starts up. Feels like its running on 2 cylinders and won't smooth out when given gas. Pulled the AMM and it ran better. Check Engine Light is on now- but I can't get the Computer Diagnostic to work- have the Key on 2 position- hold the button for under 3 secs but it doesn't light up. (I have never used it before on this car- it looks to be intact)
Any suggestions or help is appreciated.
