Radiator replacement tips 200 1993

Hi gang,

R's wagon lost a 1/2 gallon of coolant in the past 1500 miles. After fearing the worst (head gasket or leaking into trans), I believe I've tracked it down to a leaking radiator side tank. The radiator looks to be original (Blackstone UK alu/plastic), so at 325k there isn't much to complain about.

IPD here in town was out of stock, so I'm having a Nissens shipped from FCP. I hope the quality's decent. Hoses/clamps/thermostat were all replaced last fall, so I'll likely just transfer them over, though I do have spares I could swap. Not having done this job before, is there anything in particular to watch out/plan for? I'm a little concerned about getting the trans lines off. It looks like it's been a while. On the plus side, with this done I'll have the confidence to flush the tranny properly!

Best,
