Replacement drums 444-544

Actually drove my car ( the Perpetual Rebuild) for a few miles the other day. The rear brakes didn't sound too good & today I pulled the drums to inspect. I had replaced the shoes, wheel cylinders, and brake hoses probably 8 years ago (zero miles), but I was too cheap to replace the drums which were unobtanium back then. But I seem to recall reading on this forum a while back about someone replacing the Volvo drums with ones from a Ranger. Looks like the wheel studs could be pressed out of the OEM Volvo hub without too much problem by a capable machine shop. Anyone have experience with this?

Thanks,

Joe in St Louis
