Unusual temp sensor mount on CST radiator? 900 1993

Hi,
I'm trying to figure out if I am seeing things....

I've got a 93 940 with a radiator with a sticker that says CST (or maybe CTS- can' t remember for sure). I think the temp sensor in the radiator has failed. On this radiator, the sensor mounts on the upper side of the radiator but looks like there is a screw in mounting cap for it rather than just the normal push-in rubber plug. I just changed our the radiator on our other 940 and it was the "normal" plug on both the old radiator and the new Nissens radiator.

The CST radiator plug mounting spot has what appears to be a large hex cap that screws in to hold the temp sensor in place.

Does this ring a bell with anyone? Is this likely a replacement radiator? I've been planning on a Nissens replacement given the presumed age on the existing radiator so am wondering if it is just time to go ahead and do it now rather than at the next coolant change.

Thanks!
Lyle
