hesitates on acceleration 700 1991

740 1991 regina car, almost mint condition, 70K miles (135K kilometers).
Automatic, b230f sedan

Hi All,

Long time no post.

Recently developed this problem. It is surely not related to anything tune-up, I keep the car running in top shape with quality parts.

It starts well (though occasionally I have to do a second crank), idles perfect.
No fuel smells, engine noises or anything audible.

Upon acceleration it hesitates a lot, and as RPM goes up to around 3K it picks up much better (though still feels like it lacks a bit of pull).

I am thinking sensor related, timing or mixture. Remember this is a Regina REX car, not Bosch injection.

The TB and TPS were removed and cleaned by myself about 6 months ago, no issues for many months after so I doubt that's related.

Could it be related to fuel delivery? I pulled the vacuum from the FPR and problem still there.
Is there a knock sensor?

IT NEVER STALLS. Important fact...

Hope you guys can help with advice.

Thanks!
