Help in removing the MCC unit from dash? 900 1994

1994 944t 231K

The AC compressor is not getting 12v from the MCC unit in the dash. I have encountered this in a 1991 745t and it was a bad solder relay joint on the control board. It just required resoldering and everything was cool again.

After pulling off the faceplate I removed the four corner screws on the unit but the lower corners can't move out because of the metal tabs that are circled in the image below.

Does the radio have to come out to get at additional fastners that secure the metal tabs? There is a Kenwood unit in the car and I do not have the "tools" the original owner would have received that would unlock the unit.

Thanks, Randy
