Ignition amplifier??? (power stage) The unit is mounted to a heat sink--> volvo engineers were concerned with keeping the temperature of the unit under control.

It seems like there is a rash of hot no-starts now that its summer time.

The power stage is bolted to the fender near the driver's headlamp.

Only use Bosch if replacing it.
