Bumper strut replacement help needed 200 1990

So I noticed the drivers side bumper strut is pushed in. It's stuck and I cannot pry it out. It must have gotten hit, and the previous owner did nothing to fix it. I also fear it's leading to less than perfect alignment.

I've tried scissor jack (to no avail) and hitting it with a hammer and just plain pulling it out by hand... Nothing. I was considering pulling it with a rope tied to a tree, but my experience tells me I should know better.

Anyways, fearing a bumper dismantle, I know no other way to fix it. I also know the dreaded trim clips and even bumper itself can be a rusty mess, and fall apart on a moments notice. So, what to do? Replace the strut, I guess. Now all I need to know is if it can be found aftermarket? Or is it dealership only?... What is it even called? Bumper strut?...
