Clutch Issue 200

"Get a Gemo brand cable any of the aftermarket cables are junk."

A double amen to that!

Years ago I made a 240 stick from a 260 automatic. At the time, I felt lucky that a local parts house had a new clutch cable on hand. I felt less lucky when I saw that it was made in Taiwan, but I reasoned that a new Taiwanese cable had to be better than an OE cable with 110 Kmi. on it. In less than a month, I knew my reasoning was faulty when I had to reuse the old cable. Since then, I've had a new Gemo on hand and after MANY miles and MANY stick-shift 240's, I've never had to pull it out of its bag.

Do yourself a favor and tie a pull cord to the old cable before you pull it out - it will make the reentry on the backside easier and it will preserve the original cable routing.
