DIY for expansion valve & receiver drier? 200 1986

No freon in the system. The receiver drier has only been replace once in 505K miles and the expansion valve has never been replaced. I went to autozone and rented the evac pump along with the manifold gauge setup ($275 ouch), watched Eric the Car Guy on youtube. Went perfectly and now my a/c is blowing at 56F, cool enough to chill beer.......I mean Pepsi....I mean diet Pepsi.
