Without knowing any other history on your vehicle:
1) Fuel pump relay dying- internal solder joints cracked, making intermittent contact. If so, one day it will not start. Carry a spare. It lives under/ behind your glovebox. P/N 3523608.
2) Crank sensor (engine rpm sensor): Reads rpm by peeking at holes or "windows" in the flywheel. Mounted behind engine. Connector is in center of firewall and cable disappears straight down behind engine at center rear of engine compartment. If insulation on sensor cable is cracked, it's failing for sure.
3) Coil wire: These wear against the PS pump, the brake system lines, the other wires, clamps, harnesses, you name it. 240 engines jump around a lot. A damaged wire might occasionally ground out the spark against something metal. Inspect with engine not running- replace for sure if any cuts or worn spots in wire. Replace all the ignition wires if they are old. (They may have date codes imprinted.)
4) Everything else: cracked wiring somewhere, a failing fuel pump, broken vacuum hoses, a bad fuel pressure regulator... there are a lot of "5% chances". Can't rule them out but none are the likeliest candidate here. Fix or verify 1, 2, 3, and return here with any findings.
