blast cleaning PV 544 444-544 1962

Finally getting organized to abrasive blast the car's hull, for painting. I am removing the asphalt sound dampening pads. At many of the metal joints I see that they have also been sealed with something flexible (after 50 years!) and I wonder if the blasting will damage this stuff. I can tell the nozzleman what to watch out for but my main concern is that he may try too hard to remove the soft stuff and end up heating and distorting the sheet metal. Comments?

Unrelated question: is Swedish Treasures still in business? No news on the website, but 5 attempts at e-mails and phone calls have accomplished nothing.

Many thanks!

Al
