I bought the car at an auto auction last week and knew it had a problem but there are several problems. The injection/ignition is Regina and it is non-Turbo. It has 127K on it. I have not actually driven the car since I can't accelerate unless I pump the throttle or slowly increase the throttle and can do that only without being in gear. Once the RPM is increased, it will stay at that RPM but I cannot increase again unless it is very slow.
The fuel pump was intermittent and then died so I replaced that today with a new one and the fuel pressure is the usual 36PSI now, then there was a bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) which I checked with an ohmmeter and couldn't get it to break continuity so it was replaced and I cleaned the throttle body while it was off the car. Also, I replaced the IAC after getting a code 2-3-3 even though the IAC seemed to work fine when jumped across a battery. The IAC is the two terminal type used in Regina cars. I put star washers under the ground just behind the battery (right front and inside of fender). There were no other OBD codes. I replaced the mass meter thingy in the intake tube just behind the air cleaner.
Where are the other grounds, besides the one above I mentioned. Oh, I also cleaned up the ground by the IAC.
Is it time to change computers?
Any ideas would be appreciated. I have three parts cars, all Regina, so can rob parts.
