Good evening, Brickboarders!
Been awhile since I needed to seek your advice, seeing as how all has been well in Volvoland. Sadly, this is no longer the case. I figured I had all my bases covered with my four redblock cars: my clean 92 940GL as the family around town car, the ratty-but-reliable 94 945 Turbo as the road trip car, the 89 245DL with M47 and suspension mods as the summer cruiser, and the orphaned 93 945 Turbo as the future nutcase turbo project/rolling parts car. Unfortunately, a couple of weeks ago, a woman in a gray Buick with a suspended licence ran a stop sign and destroyed our best car, the 92. Fortunately, "Pip" (my daughters name for the car) did his job and my wife made it out unscathed. But this has left Our family in a bind. Our 94 is on jack stands awaiting much needed suspension, steering rack, and engine oil seal replacement. Our 89 is rolling on but until I track a new seatbelt receiver (the double one for the back seat, anyone have one for sale?) li can't haul the kids in it. Pip is undriveable, but has a well maintained B230f with a fresh timing belt and no leaks. My 93 945 has a good body and interior, but a B230ft with major leakage, crankcase pressure, and a likely blown headgasket. So, my research has turned up plenty about putting a turbo engine in a non turbo car, but little about installing an NA motor in a turbo car. I must therefore ask if any of you folks has ever attempted such a swap, and if there are any pitfalls to avoid, or advice to follow on attempting such a task. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide!
