1993 940 SRS Code 2-1-2 Steering Wheel Module, Break in wiring 900 1993

Dear jd620,

Hope you're well. You're welcome. When the SRS light is "on", the system is not working. I'm surprised the car made it past state inspections. Usually, any warning light being lit will mean an inspector does not issue a "passed" certificate.

When the SRS devices are triggered, all units are expended: airbags, pyrotechnic seatbelt pre-tensioners, the SRS module, and all SRS cables. That is why an airbag deployment usually "totals" a 940: the cost of these parts - if bought from a dealer - quickly exceeds the value of the car. As you see from the manual, the replacement involves a lot of hours.

In any case, I'm glad you put things to rights.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
