1993 940 SRS Code 2-1-2 Steering Wheel Module, Break in wiring 900 1993

Dear walczyk,

Hope you're well. Before removing a steering wheel, one has to insert a safety screw into the clockspring mechanism, to lock it. The steering wheel can then be removed, without risk to the mechanism.

When replacing the steering wheel, the wire from the clockspring unit to the airbag has to be positioned carefully, so that the wire is not crimped, etc.

If these things be done, then the wires should be fine.

Hope this helps.

Yours faithfully,

Spook
