As per previous posts, do a full fluid refresh, as well as filters (oil, air, fuel). I would also replace all the vacuum lines under the hood - follow the ones leading back to the throttle body.
Then as time allows:
- remove the big 'snorkel' between the AMM and the throttle body and examine it for leaks and wear. Careful with it, it might be 23 years old!
- remove the battery and battery tray and clean out the whole area to minimize any corrosion.
- when the battery is out, check all the fuses and fuse contacts. The ceramic type seem to be more reliable than the glass type.
- pull the air filter box and check the thermostat that opens and closes the hot air flapper. (And unless you live inside the Arctic Circle, I'd say pull the thing out and wire the flapper to close off the hot air from the manifold stove, but that's just me,)
- replace the flame trap and related soft parts
- pick up a spare fuel pump relay
- pull the front wheels and check the brake pads and rotors
- if the brake fluid in the master cylinder is anything other than clear amber (or blue, if ATE fluid), plan on flushing and bleeding the brake lines. This gets involved on non-ABS cars so you may want to farm this out to a shop (it's not rocket science, but once you start messing with frozen bleed nipples and 3 bleeds per front caliper, your enjoyment level may recede a bit).
