1986 240 DL AC question. 200

I have been able to aquire 2 12oz. cans of R-12 for my ac system on my 240. The compressor had been replaced back in 2007 vehicle had 124,000 now has 141,000,

This car was rarely driven and always garged, the compressor looks brand new still. My symptoms are no cold air, but I notice the dryer has fog occasionally in the sight glass and the compressor is cycling on and off. I see no evidence of a leaking ac system, but that really does not mean much.

I am wondering if taking a chance and adding to the system is wise at ts point or if I should just gamble and see what happens? Any thoughts?

BTW the total bill back in 2007 for the AC service was $1356.00 almost the same amount I paid for the car lol! Perhaps some day the freon will cost that much per can
