Need fix for worn/broken tail light assembly bulb holder slots 700 1991

I have a 740 and 940 wagon, same year. The re-occuring problem on both is the slots in the main tail light assemblies wear so that the bulb holders have shift at the worn slot location breaking the electrical contact. These are not the printed circuit style.

Has anyone done a mod/fix on these?

Things I'm considering are;

-Some magic moldable/fileable plastic/epoxy to build up the worn areas. Fiddly PITA.

- Making aluminum rings with the slots and gluing them over the manufacturers slots.

I still have some spares but it won't be long at the current attrition rate.

Any ideas?

cheers ian
