need a seatbelt "toaster' for 122 120-130

My late-production '68 came with a "toaster" receptacle for the seatbelts (not the loop-and-lobster-claw setup of the early cars, but the same - I think - as the 140 series). The spring that makes the lever on the driver's side snap back to hold the buckle in snugly has rusted away and broken. I got a replacement from Mike Dudek that has the same issue (he told me about it beforehand, btw, and is willing to take it back in case I can't fix it).

The problem with the thing is that it's held together by c-clips, nuts, and rivets. Easy enough to get the first two off, but I'm reluctant to drill out the rivets for fear that whatever I do to put it back together it won't be safe anymore.

Has anyone ever repaired one of these and can help me out? If not can anyone point me at a working (and available) unit?

TIA.
