Mark here: If it is the bottom hinge with the spring that is popping take a pair of pliers or similar tool and try to turn the round, scolloped edged wheel the spring rubs against. If it turns fine, turn it so a different scollop engages the spring and grease the wheel and spring and lube the rest of the spring also. Let me know if this helps. My drivers side lower hinge spring just broke. Luckily new hinges are available. Good luck. Mark
