940 strange no-start gremlin

Hi All

I was on my way to a wedding in my 91 945 Turbo when I stopped at a convenience store after driving for several hours. When I jumped back in the car to get on my way, the engine would not turn over. I realized that the tranny was still in drive, and so I put it in park. Still, the engine would not turn over. The lights on the dash came on, I was able to lower and raise the windows and use the sunroof motor (I was checking for electrical flow, which there still was to the components). There would be a slight 'click' from somewhere in the engine when I engaged the starter, but nothing else...

I called AAA, bummed that I was going to miss the beginning of the festivities. In the middle of my call, about 10 minutes after I had last tried, I turned the key once again and this time she fired right up.

There have been no issues since, having started the car maybe 10 times. I am worried that it could happen again at any time. Any ideas out there of what happened and what might need to be fixed?

Many Thanks
